The campaign and the DNC seek “highly motivated, passionate, and talented Voter Protection and Access Directors who will lead a battleground state’s Voter Protection and Access program aimed at ensuring all eligible voters have an opportunity to vote and have that vote counted.”

The job notice page notes: “We are looking for folks with a variety of backgrounds and experience and are dedicated to building a team that looks like America. If you are interested in a state Voter Protection and Access Director role for the 2024 election cycle, please submit your resume below.”

“These roles are with individual state parties, who will be responsible for all hiring decisions, salary, and specific job duties.”

“These roles will be based in states across the country, and will require in person work.”

Key Responsibilities include (paraphrased):

•⁠ ⁠Develop and lead statewide voter protection and access program

•⁠ ⁠Develop metrics and goals for the state voter protection programs

•⁠ ⁠Recruit, manage, coach, and train voter protection staff

•⁠ ⁠Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including election administration officials, elected officials, community leaders, and volunteers

•⁠ ⁠Build a strong volunteer operation to identify and respond to voting barriers as they arise, including through running a voter hotline and poll observer program

•⁠ ⁠Monitor developments in state voting and election administration law

•⁠ ⁠Identify opportunities to proactively expand voting access in the state and collaborate to take advantage of those opportunities

•⁠ ⁠Serve as a resource on state voting and election administration law and collaborate closely with other departments to ensure voters have easy access to accurate information on where, when, and how to vote

•⁠ ⁠Support organizing efforts to increase voter registration and turnout

•⁠ ⁠Use rigorous standards for data collection in NGP/VAN and LBJ

•⁠ ⁠Play an active role in planning and running post-vote (e.g., chase and cure) and post-election (recount) work to ensure that all eligible votes are counted

•⁠ ⁠Liaise closely with local counsel and national voter protection team
